Whether you’re completely new to textured art, looking for a new creative hobby or wanting to build on skills you already have, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions below.
Dani’s goal is to make textured art approachable and enjoyable, so you don’t need to think of yourself as an artist to get started.
ONLINE TEXTURED ART COURSES
Are the courses suitable for complete beginners?
Absolutely!
Dani’s courses are designed to be beginner-friendly, with techniques explained clearly and demonstrated step by step.
You don’t need previous art experience or formal training.
Do I need to be artistic?
Not at all.
One of the things Dani loves about teaching textured art is showing people that they can create art even if they have never considered themselves artistic.
Which course should I start with?
Each course focuses on different aspects of textured art.
Textured Art Mastery is a great starting point if you’re new to textured art and want to learn the foundations, including preparing your materials, working with texture paste and creating a range of textured designs and aftercare.
Making Texture Paste Mini Course focuses specifically on making Dani’s texture paste recipe and understanding how to prepare and work with it.
Textured Flow explores the droplet-style techniques to create seven beautiful designs in a medium of your choice.
Beach Textured Art focuses on creating beach inspired textured artwork two different ways. This also includes the Making Texture Paste course as a bonus addition.
Complete Textured Art Bundle brings all four of the main courses together for those who want to explore the full range of techniques.
If you’re still unsure which course is right for you, you’re welcome to contact Dani before purchasing.
Do I need to buy special art supplies?
You will need some tools and mediums to complete the projects, and each course includes a materials list to help you get started.
Dani understands that everyone has access to different products, so you don’t necessarily have to use exactly the same products she uses.
Depending on the course, you can use your own suitable art pastes, make your own DIY recipes or follow Dani’s recommended recipes.
Can I use my own texture paste?
Yes.
For most courses, you can use a suitable texture paste or medium that you already have, or make your own DIY paste.
Dani explains the characteristics to look for and demonstrates different approaches.
The exception is the Making Texture Paste Mini Course, where you will learn Dani’s specific texture paste recipe and how she makes and uses it.
Do the courses teach me how to make texture paste?
Yes.
Dani demonstrates texture paste preparation in her courses, with the exception of Textured Flow, where the primary recommendation is to use traditional, ready-made art-store modelling and texture products.
One module includes making a droplet design with texture paste. However this can be done with a paste of your choice.
What materials and tools do I need?
Each course includes a materials list outlining the tools and mediums needed for the projects.
You will generally need to purchase your own tools and materials, as these are not included with the online courses.
Can I use different brands of materials?
Yes.
Dani's courses are designed to teach you techniques and help you understand how your materials behave, rather than requiring you to purchase one specific brand.
Where appropriate, you can use suitable alternatives.
How soon can I start my course after purchasing?
Your access details are emailed to you straight after your payment is confirmed, so you can usually start within a few minutes. If the email hasn't arrived, check your junk folder and then get in touch at hello@texturesbydani.com.au.

There’s no need to rush through the lessons. You can learn at a pace that suits you and return to the course whenever you want to revisit a technique.

There is no need to complete the course in one sitting or follow someone else’s pace.
You can watch a lesson, practise the technique, take a break and come back whenever you’re ready.
Can I watch the lessons more than once?
Yes.
You can revisit the lessons whenever you need to. In fact, Dani encourages you to go back to particular techniques as you practise.
Can I watch my course on my phone or tablet?
Yes.
The courses can be accessed online using a phone, tablet or computer.
Can I download the courses?
The courses are available to watch online rather than being downloaded for offline viewing.
Where a course includes PDF resources, these can be downloaded and printed for your own use.

If your preferred language isn't currently available, you can contact Dani and request it.
What happens if I make a mistake?
Don't panic!
Mistakes are a normal part of learning textured art.
Dani demonstrates techniques and troubleshooting throughout her courses and shares practical tips to help you understand what went wrong and what you can do about it.
The aim isn't to create something perfect. It's to learn how the materials and techniques behave and become more confident with practice.
What if I get stuck while doing a course?
If you have a question or need some help, you can contact Dani.
You can reach out by email, Instagram DM or Facebook Messenger.
Dani is happy to help where she can and point you in the right direction.
