I’ve always been exceptionally creative, but when I first picked up a palette knife and began experimenting with texture, I knew I had found something truly special. What began as a way to pass time soon grew into a passion beyond my wildest dreams. Before textured art, I thought life was good, but now I feel deeply blessed to be living a life filled with creativity, joy, and connection through art.
Before founding Textures by Dani, I spent many years working as a qualified school teacher. Teaching has always been close to my heart, and it wasn’t until a few years ago that I realised I could combine my passion for art with my teaching expertise. That’s how my online textured art courses were born. Designed to guide and inspire students at all levels. I’ve created a wide range of courses to suit every ability and budget, from simple beginner-friendly designs to more comprehensive programs. With my background in education, every course is structured to be easy to follow, practical, and confidence-building.
Alongside my online courses, I regularly run in-person textured art classes in Melbourne. These workshops focus on beginner textured art and beginner floral art, and they are some of my favourite parts of what I do. I love meeting students face-to-face and watching them transform from feeling unsure to walking away proud of their creations. Many come to class with no experience at all, yet leave with the confidence that they can achieve anything. These Melbourne art classes are not just about learning techniques—they’re about creativity, empowerment, and the joy of making something beautiful with your own hands.
I live in Melbourne with my beautiful family. My husband Danny and our daughters Ella and Abby. Being a mum and wife is one of my greatest joys, and I treasure family time more than anything. I love big family dinners, holidays together and those everyday moments that make life special. Alongside my art I am also a content creator, a role I absolutely love for its creative nature. Filming my art processes and connecting with other artists allows me to share ideas, inspire, and build a creative community. Outside of work I have a passion for musicals, and I find inspiration in painting by the beach and spending time in nature. My family, my art and my creative work are at the heart of everything I do, and I feel grateful every day to live a life that blends them all.
